Snow Blading With Owen

Owen and I drove out to Richmond, Indiana to skate the boards Inc. skatepark but apparently they are closed on mondays and tuesdays or something. They need to update their F*#@ing website! We tried to make the most of it and this is what happened. I didn't skate at all...the single beer each was the only thing that made the intense cold bearable. Stay safe and strange.

The 2010 Major Taylor Blade Jam - Sunday September 12

So it's already been a year since the last Blade Jam and I'm sure you're all getting antsy for the next one. Just like last year's I'll have Indiana Inline Year In Review: Vol II to hand out for all participants and only $5 for people who aren't skating in the contest. Tell your friends, request off from work, and mark your calendars because this may be the most fun you've ever had in your life. Check out last year's edit if you haven't already.

Quick update (7/9) - Parent must be at contest to sign waiver if under 18. I am working on getting the waiver so it can be notarized. There is plenty of time to get it done if you are under 18 and your parents aren't coming. I'll post it up and/or new info as soon as possible. Keep checking back.

So this amazing new sculpture is just down the street from major taylor's...we need to have a huge session/bbq there asap.

The artists imagine the court will be a paradise for skaters and those interested in extreme sports. "This place can be used for anything except basketball," Mr. Rodríguez Sánchez said with a laugh.

Strange Colors: Production Journal #4

It's been a minute since the last production journal and for good reason. At this point I'm just going through and polishing all of the sections and exporting. I'm almost finished with the main video and all I really have to do is finish up the bonus material. I'll be on vacation after next week so by the end of that following week the video will be finished and sent off to be duplicated. As soon as that happens I will start the official pre-order process and by the next production journal I will have a date(and hopefully a location) for the Strange Colors premiere! In the meantime watch the trailer again and I'll do my best to get some of the bonus content online to help ease the pain.

I havnt got to shoot much skating lately and had to go out of town to Indianapolis and they took me to this crazy castle place, I wish I could have got a diff angle but the sun was directly over the building so it was impossible to get a properly exposed shot without blocking out the sun. Im kinda bummed because he did the most stretched out rocket grab ever but didn't tell me and I had switched to a bad angle for the trick and he hit his head during the landing and was bleeding so he didnt redo it, We will prob reshoot this one later in the summer during sunset so I can get more of the castle, right behind the cliff in the photo it has some sick towers.

Super Bowl Sunday Solution Ramp Park Session (2/7) 12PM

So Eric has been working on organizing a big session before the big game on Sunday. The session starts at Noon which is when we'll be arriving but we'll be there until at least 4PM. For the die hard Colts fans please remember that the game doesn't start until 6:30 so you'll have plenty of time to get your blade on and get your foooosball on. See you there!

Strange Colors: Production Journal #3

So there's been one major change since the last production journal that you may have noticed and that is the fact that the film will be entitled simply "Strange Colors". I felt like the "And All the Others" part was too long and I needed to simplify. So anyways, probably not going to have anybody cry over it but I thought I'd let you know.


In other news the production process is going along rather smoothly. I now have all of the profile rough drafts ready, I've started to work on a few other sections, and the trailer rough draft is finally taking shape. I plan on releasing the trailer about one month before the full video will be released. In other news, the cover art is almost finished and the disc art is ready to go. I will be running a short run duplication of 100 limited edition Strange Colors DVDs and 20 hand numbered limited edition Blu-Ray copies hand crafted by yours truly. You will be able to PRE-ORDER through the indiana inline shop in as soon as a month from now so keep checking back!

So it's been over 10 years now since the first full length aggressive inline film to come out of indiana was produced. I've had countless people asking to have this put on DVD and I figured more people could see it if it was online. Anyways, Gavin gave it the ok and took a few minutes out of his lounge time in the California sun to have a chat with me to talk about the video. It's only a couple minutes long and then the video begins. Enjoy!

Strange Colors and All the Others: Production Journal #2

So for the most part everything is going rather smoothly as far as the video is concerned. I just finished the major part of the cover art and I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out. I'm showing you this rough picture just to give you an idea of what the feel of the video will be. I still have the wood cut lettering to attach to the piece, have to put on the custom frame, and some other final tweaks. Anyways, I'll post up the cover art as soon as it's finished and then the pre-orders will begin!


In other news...it's definately going to take a little longer than January for this video to be in your hands. As long as I don't run into any major speed bumps the DVDs and Blu-Rays will be ready to go within 1-2 months max. Owen Nevins' rough draft of his section is now complete and I've already started to work on Alex Braunagel's. We just need a couple more filming sessions and it's all gravy.
